Purdue Printing Cuts Majority of Jobs

Purdue Printing Services (West Lafayette, Ind.) is about to cut its staff by nearly 70 percent due to fewer printing orders and a loss of revenue. According to Purdue, expenses at Purdue University Printing Services had outgrown money coming in over the last few years. 

"The operation was working effectively, but the work wasn't there," said Robert McMains, vice president for physical facilities. “We were looking at an estimated deficit of about $700,000 by the end of the fiscal year, and we couldn't afford that. The staff is talented and hardworking, but the demand for print materials has dropped dramatically."
