The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP Partnership), Pittsburgh, was established by three founding organizations—Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) and Flexographic Technical Association (FTA)—as an independent third-party verification organization. The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP Partnership), Pittsburgh, Pa., recently revealed the much anticipated criteria on how to become a sustainable, green printer at the National Environmental Health and Safety Conference (NEHS) in Indianapolis. Announced at the NEHS Conference general session on March 12, the criteria guides printers on their journey toward sustainability. Printers who meet these requirements and are verified will be listed on the SGP Partnership registry website (www.sgppartnership.org), which can be used as a resource for print buyers. WorkflowOne, Dayton, Ohio, announced its Charlotte, N.C., plant has become the company’s second manufacturing facility to earn both the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS 16949:2002 quality management process certifications. Issued by the International Standards Organization (ISO) and the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), the certifications were awarded after the facility scored very high in independent audits.
