From January 27 to February 2, the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO), Chambersburg, Pa., awarded 85 one-time print jobs to 38 print supplier clients of Government Print Management. The total value in new business for the clients was $372,835. These print suppliers won new business as a result of collaboration with Government Print Management not only obtaining GPO solicitations that fit their production and schedule requirements, but in gaining an appropriate quality level rating as well as historical pricing information essential to winning the jobs without leaving excess money on the table.

PIA Releases Newest Sheetfed Test Forms

Pittsburgh-based Printing Industries of America (PIA) announced the release of the newest version of its 19x25” sheetfed test forms (version 6.0) in four-, six- and eight-color versions. These test forms are the first truly comprehensive examination tools for analyzing press conditions, mechanical attributes and color management areas of an offset press using a single form.

Well, here goes. In 2020 the printing industry will still be a very large industry and continue to rank among the country’s largest manufacturing industries, according to the recently released Printing Industries of America’s report: “Beyond the Horizon: A Longer View of Print’s Challenges and Opportunities.” Not bad for an industry that has gone through its ups and downs over the last decade.
