Boston-based Arthur Blank & Co., a division of American Banknote, is aggressively expanding into the secure bank card market in the United States with the recent MasterCard and VISA certifications of its 50,000 square foot production facility in Mt. Pleasant, Tenn.
Internationally, American Banknote is one of the leading global providers of MasterCard, VISA and other secure credit cards. The newly-certified Tennessee facility joins card production facilities worldwide, including France, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and the Czech Republic, with an annual manufacturing capacity of more than 2 billion plastic cards for payment, pre-paid, gift, marketing and chip-based card products.
“This new U.S. facility for secure bank cards means our banking and financial clients have a new alternative to source their secure products. This will also allow our retail customers who depend on us for gift, and other pre-paid cards, to have available a full suite of secure payment and gift card solutions from one company,” said Jake Jacobs, senior vice president. “A fully integrated, one-stop resource gives our customers more control over the production, quality and security for their card needs.”
The new operation, with an annual production capacity of more than 100 million cards, meets the rigorous certification requirements for secure bank cards, from physical access control and 24/7 security and monitoring, to stringent production and inventory audit protocols. The new facility will also manufacture secure contactless payment cards.
