Badger Develops FDA-Approved Tag
Badger Tag & Label, Random Lake, Wis., recently developed a label that can print on stock with adhesive properties. The label remains adhered to the product from manufacturing through display at retail, but can be easily removed without leaving residue.
Originally developed for a cookware manufacturer, the label can be used on a variety of surfaces, including metal and plastic, and is flexible enough to follow the shape of a product.
In other company news, Badger Tag & Label has developed a tag with stock and ink features that meets FDA approval--making the tag safe for the food industry. The new, multi-piece, barcoded tag offers additional properties associated with the synthetic stock that it is made from. Its waterproof stock is chemical-resistant, can withstand extreme temperatures, and is puncture- and tear-resistant.
While the tag can be configured in a variety of ways, the initial product includes three matching, barcoded tags that are divided with perforations. They are being used by a meat packing firm to identify areas that are to be processed on the carcass. Each three-piece set has one similar barcode and are consecutively numbered. The tags are attached as a set to the food and can be easily removed during processing.
