Crystal D Announces Updated Product Safety Information
St. Paul, Minnesota-based Crystal D, a leading supplier of corporate awards and plaques, announced an updated product safety policy as well as a dedicated contact for specific product safety questions.
Because of the confusion surrounding the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), Crystal D has updated its product safety policy (now available at www.crystal-d.com/about-us/crystal-d-product-safety). None of the products sold by Crystal D are considered children’s toys by CPSIA and are not subject to the CPSIA regulations.
However, all Crystal D substrates are tested with X-ray fluorescence technology to determine lead content. This voluntary testing is done annually and randomly throughout the year. Testing also is completed whenever the composition of a product or a manufacturer changes.
“We updated the policy on the web site and in our catalog to clear up any confusion about the safety of Crystal D’s products,” says Mike Irvine, product safety coordinator and vice president.
