The TransPromo Summit is taking place in New York on August 13 and 14 at the Hilton New York. Attendees will be educated on strategies, techniques and tools for fusing traditional transaction documents with marketing messages, in order to enhance customer communications, improve customer retention and increase revenue.
Today’s consumers are drowning in a sea of unrelated marketing campaigns, and corporate marketers are seeking new methods of communication that cut through the clutter to improve marketing ROI. The objective is to communicate with customers in a manner likely to carry some level of certainty that the message actually reaches the recipient. Unfortunately, many conventional methods of communication make it difficult to determine which messages are actually getting through. In addition, consumers are becoming much savvier about filtering out unwanted information.
However, 95 percent of transaction documents such as statements and notifications are opened and read, providing excellent vehicles for reaching customers with other types of messages and information. Studies have shown that on average, a consumer will spend one to three minutes reviewing a bill—that is how much time the marketer has to capture a recipient’s attention when using the transactional document as a marketing tool.
A 2006 InfoTrends Future of Mail study asked respondents to evaluate two different types of statements—a traditional statement including advertising inserts, and a statement with graphics and offers printed on the face of the document relevant to their account information, known a TransPromo document with onserts. Not surprisingly, statements with personalized onserts were preferred by nearly two thirds of respondents. While TransPromo implementation carries an incremental cost, many marketers are finding the ROI more than offsets this cost. The TransPromo Summit brings together vendors, print service providers and users for two days of information sharing and peer-to-peer networking, offering an opportunity to learn what works, what doesn’t and why. The event also allows attendees to network with leading-edge vendors and service providers during a dedicated technology showcase.
Technologies used to facilitate TransPromo communications run the gamut from digital color toner and inkjet presses to software, content management and workflow solutions. Organizations can use the data contained within the transaction document to personalize customer communications with marketing messages. Digital color presses are driving the transpromotional market. And, because the price/performance ratio and quality of the presses has improved, organizations can more easily and affordably colorize critical transaction information contained in these documents and add promotional messages—including text, graphics and coupons—to capture a customer’s attention.
