MGI Receives DIMA Award
MGI Digital Graphic Technology, Melbourne, Fla., has received the 2009 Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) Innovative Digital Product award for the Meteor DP20 4-in-1 digital pressprints. The Meteor DP20 is the central component of MGI’s My PhotoBook Shop/MyBookinShop total digital photo solution.
Only 17 out of the hundreds of digital products shown at PMA 09, held in Las Vegas in March, were selected to receive this award, which recognizes products or services utilizing new technologies and/or applications that make a product either distinct or the first of its kind.
Meteor DP20 is the industry’s first all-inclusive digital solution that can print, laminate and crease & cut in just one pass. This compact four-color digital press uses dry toner and prints and laminates photos in auto-duplex mode. It accommodates virtually any off-the-shelf papers up to 12x18" (A3+). The Meteor DP20 produces prints in resolutions up to 1800 dpi with an output of up to 10 photo books per hour (print to print), and in-line finishing options including duplex lamination and horizontal and vertical cutting and creasing.
The Meteor DP20 is a versatile “business in a box” for photo professionals, giving them the option to offer additional premium printing applications such as flyers, brochures, business cards, postcards, personalized book covers with the Meteor DP20’s book cover mode (12x35"/304x889mm) and a host of direct mail services utilizing the Meteor DP20’s full variable data capabilities.
