Zavadil to Receive Medal of Honor
The board of directors of the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) has named Larry A. Zavadil, founder and CEO of American Solutions for Business (ASB), Glenwood, Minn., as a recipient of the 2005 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. He will receive the award at a ceremony on May 14 at Ellis Island.
Established in 1986 by NECO, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor pays tribute to the ancestry groups that comprise the United States' unique cultural mosaic. The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives have both officially recognized the award, which ranks among the country's most prestigious. In addition, recipients are listed in the Congressional Record with dignitaries such as former President Gerald Ford, General Colin Powell, Walter Cronkite, Mickey Mantle and Barbara Walters.
Zavadil was nominated for exemplifying a life dedicated to the American way of hard work, self-improvement and community service, in addition to dedicating himself to supporting and defending the values of American life, sharing his personal and professional gifts with the local, national and international community, and contributing distinguished service to humanity.
In other company news, Technicolor Entertainment Services, a film and media distribution company based in Wilmington, Ohio, has named ASB as its 2005 Vendor of the Year. The selection was based on performance, customer service, cost-saving proposals, on-time deliveries, billing accuracy and innovative ideas. ASB was awarded a top score of 10 points in each category.
