If you're convinced cold calling is still a worthwhile sales tactic, don't look to Google for affirmation. A search for "cold calling statistics" turns up a whole bunch of numbers, most of them overwhelmingly negative.

Sales is all about thinking big. Bigger clients lead to bigger profits which lead to bigger vacations, or so the logic goes, and a lot of the time that's true.

The new year can represent a clean slate or a do-over of sorts. Ambitious resolutions are made—the kind that involve treadmills and self-reflection. The success rate is uncertain.

Nobody is perfect and, undoubtedly, society misses the mark on a lot of things. But sometimes, American culture produces seemingly minor gems that turn out to be some of the greatest pairings in history—pairings that make us mutter, “Why didn’t I think of that?”
