Accuracy and compliance are critical issues with insurance forms. Schidecker stressed that test runs are essentially cost-prohibitive in most cases, so distributors must be absolutely sure that what they are sending to the printer is exactly what the customer wants. "Samples always help. But, of course, the big thing now is e-mailing the text, where it is not uncommon for information to get dropped out, or files and fonts to be missing," she observed. "We recommend running off an e-mailed proof and having the customer sign off on it so we can use it as our go-by. If this is handled locally by the distributor, instead of by us expressing mailing proofs back and forth, it saves time and money."
